CAREERS AT DCU

Global Infrastructure. Human Scale.

DCU has spent years building the technical backbone that moves films from studios to screens across 190+ countries. Now we’re transforming by expanding our platform, our team, and what’s possible. It’s a rare moment: a company with deep industry roots and the energy of something just getting started.

Established, but transforming

We’re not a startup guessing at product-market fit. DCU has proven technology, real clients, and global operations — and we’re growing for what comes next.

Close-knit, low ego culture

Titles don’t drive decisions here — ideas do. You’ll work directly alongside the people shaping DCU’s direction, and your contributions will be visible from day one.

Energetic and ambitious

We move fast and aim high. If you’re someone who gets excited by hard problems, growing markets, and making a real dent — you’ll fit right in.

Where technology meets cinema

Working at DCU means your work has a tangible, cultural endpoint: the films people watch and remember. You’ll sit at the intersection of media and technology, contributing to the infrastructure that puts stories on screens in every corner of the world.

We’re a hybrid workplace, so you get the structure of coming together with your team and the flexibility to do your best work wherever that happens for you. Our offices span Los Angeles, London, Prague, and Johannesburg — and our people regularly connect across all of them.

Chief Technology Officer
Vancouver, BC • Hybrid • Full-Time

Are you ready to architect the technical foundation of a company reinventing how films reach audiences worldwide? DCU is looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead the engineering vision, platform strategy, and technical execution of a modern, product-led organization.

In this executive role, you’ll turn product ambition into scalable, high-performing systems, building and leading an engineering organization that delivers with speed, reliability, and craft. Working closely with the CPO and broader Executive Team, you’ll ensure tight alignment between what we’re building and how we build it, setting the technical direction for a platform that operates at global scale. You’ll bring both the depth to make hard architectural calls and the leadership to grow a team capable of tackling increasing complexity with confidence.

What You'll Do

Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and evolve the company’s technical vision in alignment with product and business strategy
  • Partner closely with the CPO to ensure short term success matches well with long term roadmap
  • Establish architectural principles for both cloud and on-prem solutions including APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems
  • Evaluate and guide adoption of technologies across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
  • Ensure long-term scalability, reliability, maintenance and performance of the platform

Engineering Execution & Delivery

  • Own the delivery of high-quality, production-ready systems that power customer-facing products
  • Partner with Product and Design to ensure seamless translation from concept to implementation
  • Establish and maintain strong engineering practices, including testing, code quality, observability, and performance optimization

  • Define team structures and operating models that support product ownership and cross-functional collaboration
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Mentor engineering leaders and develop strong technical talent across the organization
  • Promote a product engineering mindset — engineers who understand both systems and user impact

Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CPO, aligning product vision with technical feasibility and execution
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team on company strategy, planning, and investment decisions
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment across priorities and delivery

Business Analyst
Los Angeles, CA • New York, NY • Hybrid • Full-Time

Do you thrive on turning raw data into decisions — finding the inefficiencies others miss and building the processes that fix them? DCU is looking for a Business Analyst to drive operational improvement, profitability analysis, and strategic decision-making across our exhibition and distribution network.

In this role, you’ll sit at the heart of DCU’s business intelligence function by analyzing performance data, modeling financial outcomes, identifying process gaps, and delivering the insights that shape how DCU grows and operates. You’ll work closely with the Executive Team and cross-functional partners, bringing structure and clarity to complex business challenges across a 3,000+ location exhibitor network.

What You'll Do

Business & Performance Analysis

  • Analyze business data to identify trends, variances, and actionable opportunities to improve revenue and utilization.
  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses to support investment, expansion, and operational decisions.
  • Track and report on KPIs related to network growth, account performance, revenue contribution, and operational efficiency, surfacing insights for the Executive Team on a recurring basis.
  • Analyze market trends and demographics to inform expansion opportunities for DCU.

Process Optimization & Operational Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies across operational workflows (e.g. ordering, invoicing, service delivery, and support) and design and implement process improvements that increase speed, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Build and document standardized processes, templates, and reporting tools that streamline day-to-day operations and reduce manual effort across teams.
  • Utilize Excel and other analytical tools to automate and enhance existing company processes, replacing manual workflows with scalable, repeatable solutions.
  • Support the resolution of operational issues by diagnosing root causes and building systemic fixes rather than one-off remedies.

Distributor & Exhibitor Intelligence

  • Leverage knowledge of distributor and exhibitor operations to contextualize data findings and ensure analytical outputs reflect real-world business dynamics.
  • Produce and distribute recurring performance reports to internal teams and external partners nationwide.
  • Support Sales in commercial analysis, forecasting, and pipeline tracking.

Exhibitor Relations & Network Support

  • Use data-driven site analysis to identify opportunities to increase DCU Connect’s network density and long-term exhibitor value.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Sales, Client Services, Operations, and Finance to support smooth execution of revenue-driving and optimization initiatives.
  • Serve as a key analytical resource across the pitching and operations teams, translating data into clear recommendations that inform business decisions at all levels.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years in a business analysis, operations, or strategy role; experience in theatrical exhibition, distribution, or media services strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex datasets, identify inefficiencies, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or improving operational processes — not just identifying problems, but building the systems that solve them.
  • Experience managing large-scale databases or data systems (3,000+ records) with a focus on data integrity and usability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including workbook design, modeling, and automation); experience with data visualization, CRM, or BI tools a plus.
  • Strong communicator who can present data-driven insights clearly to both operational and senior leadership audiences.
  • A genuine passion for film, cinema exhibition, and the business of bringing content to audiences.
